A rice-paper floor lamp — a handmade oblong paper form resting on a slim black wire tripod. The paper turns the bulb into a single even volume of warm light, so there is no glare and no hot spot, just a steady calm glow.
Stand it beside a low sofa or at the foot of a bed, where it softens a quiet corner and makes a room feel finished after dark. This is a mood light rather than a work light — pair it with something brighter beside your chair if you plan to read.
